You are at the threshold of your life, career and/or business. The past lies behind you and the future is in front. What will your future be? You can leave it up to chance or fate, or you can design your life the way you want it to be.
Setting a vision and direction for your business and life is essential to your future health, wealth and happiness. You can drift on the sands of time, be a leaf in the wind, or you can decide on your path and pursue it.
A vision gives you a framework, purpose and direction for your life and what you want to accomplish. It encourages and empowers you to move past the obstacles in your way, because you can see the big picture and feel that the prize at the end is worth the struggle to get there.
However, having a vision is only one part of the equation. Setting realistic, tangible goals is the other. Goals are akin to milestones along the path of your life and are important evidence that you are progressing in your chosen direction.
Nothing great was ever achieved without a big dream. All visionaries are dreamers. An example is Walt Disney. As a child in kindergarten, Disney drew smiling faces on sunflowers. When his teacher told him that sunflowers didn’t have faces, his reply was, “mine do.” If you’ve ever been to Disneyland, you will notice that all the sunflowers have smiling faces painted on them!
Disney tried for years to find the support to create the original Disneyland. Everyone laughed at his ideas and told him he was crazy and childish.
After years of setbacks, Disney asked a famous tycoon of the day about his dreams. His response was "Go with your heart". Walt never saw the completed Disneyland which opened after his death. This is one man who turned his dreams into reality based on his vision, passion and commitment. Millions of children and adults enjoy his legacy to this day.
We all have dreams. Sometimes we won't articulate them for fear of ridicule from our peers, or maybe we just don't believe that they can be achieved.
What’s your passion and commitment to your dreams? What’s holding you back? Is it all the doubting Thomas’ out there who laugh at you?
Be selective with whom you share your dreams and goals. It takes very little to snuff out the germinating seed. Choose your confidant well. It could well make the difference between failure and success.

Our Contribution to making the world a better place:
We donate 10% and more of our total gross income to charities including Opportunity International who specialise in giving people a hand up rather than a hand out.
This is done via enabling the poorest of the poor to create micro businesses that support not only themselves, but up to 70-80 people in their local communities.
In other words, teaching them how to fish and finding new fishing grounds.
