Executive coaching in its current form is a rapidly expanding paradigm.
What makes it so interesting is what came before. From a management perspective, the 90’s could be best articulated with the mantra, “change or die”. That decade appeared to be a battle for survival in a time of major market and technological change. The 90’s were also marked by the call to rationalisation and cost cutting at any price.
The results of this period have been interesting to observe. Rationalisation has often had unsatisfactory results. A third of restructures fail to achieve satisfactory levels of performance, and up to 70% of downsizings fail to produce the desired results within the first year.
There is now an increasing realisation that organisational culture is a driver of performance. Workers are now increasingly nomadic, and on average will have 3 career changes during a lifetime’s employment. 50% of employees expect to spend less than 3 years in a role. CEO’s aren’t immune either, with the average tenure being just over 3 years.
So where does this leave you?
If you’re a senior executive, you know that life is fast paced, constantly changing and stressful. Often you’re caught in the day to day operations of keeping the business alive. You may not have the personal bandwidth to indulge in long term thinking and strategic direction.
In other cases you may want to turn to people for help, but there isn’t anyone in your organisation you trust and can confide in.
As independent executive coaches, we can reflect ideas, evoke solutions and support implementations in ways few insiders could ever do. We have no axe to grind with the organisation and its politics. We’re totally unbiased and non judgemental in our approach.
This means that you get the benefit of bouncing ideas, getting advice where appropriate, and being in a position to make informed decisions knowing that political interests in your organisation are not affecting the thinking.
Think of the freedom this would give you!

Our Contribution to making the world a better place:
We donate 10% and more of our total gross income to charities including Opportunity International who specialise in giving people a hand up rather than a hand out.
This is done via enabling the poorest of the poor to create micro businesses that support not only themselves, but up to 70-80 people in their local communities.
In other words, teaching them how to fish and finding new fishing grounds.
