Count your blessings

It happened in the blink of
any eye. He’d just
got off the bus opposite his
college. The bus had left
and another one had taken
it’s place.
Frustrated that it
wasn’t moving,
he’d looked both
ways, and stepped out in
front of the bus onto the
road. Next thing he knew
he was flat on his back -
people milling around,
shocked expressions on
their faces. At 8:40am I
got a text message - “I was
just hit by a car in front of
school with people”. My
first reaction was, “Huh?”
and I immediately rang him.

It’s all in the
language! What is, I hear
you asking? Everything is
the short answer.
“Everything?”, yes
everything. Let me explain
with an example… Some of
you would know we have
my 17 year old son, Zahan,
back living with us after a 5
year hiatus in the US of A.
And it’s fantastic
having him back.
He’s a really great
young man. However,
there’s one area
we’ve been
struggling with. Only one
you ask? ;-) Back in
Chicago he’d
developed a marked dislike
for school, missed classes,
not put in assignments -

hate. The world is full of
strife isn’t it… If
you’re not living in a
part of the globe where
there’s constant
carnage and destruction,
count your blessings.
However, not all discord
happens far away.
Unfortunately, a lot
happens in families and in
business. And when the
two are connected, woof,
there can be fireworks,
love, betrayal and hate.
